Abstract

Jelen munkában a hunok nyugati hadjáratait vizsgálom a nyugati, népvándorláskorabeli, valamint a középkori magyar krónikákban. A kutatás módszertana az alábbiak szerint foglalható össze: először a népvándorláskorabeli, majd a magyar hun történeteket írom le. Ezután a két történetcsokor összehasonlító elemzését végzem el időrendben haladva. Ezáltal az elemzés ellenőrzését az olvasó is elvégezheti. Az összehasonlítás során sikerült a krónikáinkban szereplő valós történelmi szereplők (Macrinus, Detre), valamint a különböző hun hadjáratok és a hozzájuk kapcsolódó különböző helyszínek azonosítása (pl. Belvider, horvát hadjáratok kérdése). A munkát a következtések levonásával zárom. A következtetésekben elvetem azokat a korábbi nézeteket, amelyek szerint a hun történeteket a magyar szerzők másolták, vagy kitalálták volna, inkább azok eredetisége mellett foglalok állást. | In this work, I examine the western campaigns of the Huns in the Migration Period, and Medieval Hungarian chronicles. The methodology of the research can be summarized as follows: first, I describe the Migration Period and then the Hungarian stories of the western Hunnic campaigns. After that, I perform a comparative analysis of the two sets of stories in chronological order. This way, the reader can also check my analysis as well. During the comparison, I succeeded in identifying the real historical figures behind the heroes of our chronicles (Macrinus, Detre), as well as the various Hunnic campaigns and the locations related to them (e.g. Belvider, the question of Croatian campaigns). I conclude the work by drawing my conclusions. In this chapter, I reject the previous views that out Hunnic stories were copied or invented by Hungarian authors, and I rather take a stand in favour of their originality.
