Abstract

A mai Máramaros-Ugocsai Református Egyházmegye számos templomában (Huszt, Técső, Nagyszőlős, Fertősalmás, Verbőc stb.) találunk múlt századi, vagy még ennél is korábban készült orgonákat. Ez utóbbiak közt kiemelkedő helyet foglal el a több százéves viski református templom orgonája, amelynek jelentősége a református gyülekezet életében betöltött szerepén kívül abban rejlik, hogy ehhez hasonlóan eredeti Országh-orgona már alig van a Kárpát-medencében. Ennek ellenére a viski orgonáról viszonylag keveset tud a szakirodalom. A neves budapesti orgonaépítő-mester, Országh Sándor által 1880-ban készített neogótikus orgona 2025-ben volt 145 éves. A ma is használatos templomi hangszer felállítása azonban korántsem volt zökkenőmentes, hiszen az orgona építtetésének elhatározásától (1833) a terv megvalósításáig (1880) csaknem fél évszázad telt el. A folytonos anyagi nehézségek ellenére a gyülekezetnek végül mégis sikerült megépíttetnie az orgonát. Az egyház a hangszer felállításának költségeit részben az úgynevezett Orgona alapból fedezte, amely főként a református egyháztagok adományainak és hagyatékainak köszönhetően jött létre a 19. század második felében. Jelen tanulmány az említett Orgona alap, valamint a viski orgona keletkezés- és építéstörténetét mutatja be eddig feltáratlan vagy feldolgozatlan levéltári források alapján. | In numerous churches of the present-day Máramaros-Ugocsa Reformed Diocese (Huszt, Técső, Nagyszőlős, Fertősalmás, Verbőc etc.) organs dating from the past century or from even earlier periods may be found. Among these, a particularly prominent place is held by the organ of the centuries-old Reformed church in Visk, which significance lies not only in the role it has played in the life of the Reformed congregation, but also in the fact that very few original Országh organs of this kind still remain in the Carpathian Basin. Despite this, the Visk organ has received relatively little attention in the scientific literature. The neo-Gothic instrument, constructed in 1880 by the distinguished Budapest organ builder Sándor Országh, reached its 145th anniversary in 2025. Yet the installation of this instrument, which continues to serve in liturgical practice to this day, was not free from obstacles: nearly half a century elapsed between the initial decision to commission an organ (1833) and the actual realization (1880) of that resolve. In spite of persistent financial difficulties, the Reformed congregation ultimately succeeded in bringing the undertaking to completion. The costs attendant upon its construction were met in part by the so-called Organ Fund, established in the latter half of the 19th-century through the donations and bequests of Reformed church members. The present study seeks to reconstruct, on the basis of archival sources hitherto unexamined or unprocessed, both the origins and development of the Organ Fund and the history of the Visk church organ’s conception and construction, in as detailedly as possible.
