Abstract

The aim of the study is to introduce and examine the bilateral treaties concluded by Hungary with her neighbouring states on water management and to evaluate them with regard to their conformity with the recent developments of international and community law. In doing so, the author first examined, introduced and summarized the developments in the law on water management and the law to water and sanitation. The author – as a result of his research – came to the conclusion that the above mentioned treaties do not contain the developments and the main principles of the community law or international law. Their revision therefore seems to be an actual questions.
