Abstract
During the autumn of 2024, communal archaeological research restarted with renewed power at Rippl-Rónai Museum through field walkings combined with metal detector research. conducted numerous field trips with the help of the Museum staff and our volunteers throughout the county, paying special attention to the Roman period of Somogy County. Accordingly, in most cases we worked near watercourses, former Roman settlements (villae, vici etc.), and along known ancient roads. The area near the Rinya Creek raised our attention the most, which, based on the artefacts preserved in the Museum’s warehouse and our research, may have been a significant center of the region during the Roman imperial period.
