Abstract

La producción literaria de la primera generación de escritoras negro-africanas en lengua francesa se compone de una docena de relatos escritos en primera persona y caracterizados por su vocación eminentemente testimonial. En las obras se abordan temas altamente controvertidos como el matrimonio poligámico, el matrimonio forzado o la maternidad impuesta. Si bien se inscriben, al menos desde el punto de vista formal, en el ámbito de la novela –y, por tanto, de la ficción–, la mitad de estos textos presenta elementos de indefinición muy significativos, entre ellos la elevada presencia de pactos de lectura ausentes, ambiguos o contradictorios, la dilatación de la identificación del personaje y, por último, la manifiesta semejanza biográfica entre las escritoras y sus protagonistas. Lejos de ser casual, esta eliminación de las fronteras que separan la realidad de la ficción constituye una estrategia premeditada que permite a las escritoras desafiar los tabúes sociales escudándose en el espacio de la ficción y, al mismo tiempo, suscitando en el lector una fuerte impresión de veracidad de lo contado. | The literary production of the first generation of black-African women writers in the French language consists of a dozen stories written in the first person and characterised by their eminently testimonial vocation. Despite being an emerging literature, the works deal with highly controversial themes such as polygamous marriage, forced marriage and imposed motherhood. Although they fall, at least from a formal point of view, within the realm of the novel – and therefore of fiction – half of these texts present very significant elements of indefiniteness, including the high presence of absent, ambiguous or contradictory reading pacts, the dilation of character identification and, finally, the manifest biographical similarity between the women writers and their protagonists. Far from being accidental, this elimination of the frontiers that separate reality from fiction constitutes a premeditated strategy that allows the writers to defy social taboos by shielding themselves in the space of fiction and, at the same time, arousing in the reader a strong impression of the veracity of what is told.
