Abstract
The study analyzes the persecution of Belgian Jews under Nazi occupation, where a “moral ghetto” replaced physical segregation through legal and social measures. It examines the policy of the “lesser evil,” the role of the AJB, and the gradual dispossession leading to deportations. The paper shows that the Belgian model was less violent yet equally effective in implementing genocide.
