Abstract

Magánföldesúri szervezett betelepítés keretében érkeztek Trautson János sárospataki uradalmába a mai Hercegkút, az egykori Trautsonfalva lakói. Az 1750-ben létrejött település első lakóit 59 család alkotta, mindannyian római katolikusak voltak. Leszármazottaik körében a 20. század tragikus eseményei gyors nyelvváltást eredményeztek. A vallásához, szokásaihoz ma is ragaszkodó közösség, a sváb hagyományok ápolása sikertörténet. | In 1749, the Trautson family who had estates in Tokaj-Hegyalja thought to settle peasants from Germany to improve the estate. In the XII. volume (1973) of the Yearbook of Herman Ottó Museum, there was published a detailed study about this theme written by Iván Balassa. In the 18th century, the ethnic German arrived to Hegyalja in two waves. The first wave was about 1750, by the initiative of the landowner Duke János Vilmos Trautson. Rátka, Herceg-kút and Károlyfalva became inhabited at that time. These were logged-land in the outskirts of Sárospatak. During the reign of Joseph II., the second wave of settling came in this area, which was expert and organized. Hosszúláz, “Huszház”, Marczinfalva (Abaújszántó), and Józseffalva were set up on the chamber estates. During the 200 years after the settlings, their mother tongue and habits have become staleness considerably, but they still exist. The nationality attachments are much stronger in real life than the numbers of statistics show.
