Abstract

A tanulmány Donald Trump második elnökségének a politikai és külpolitikai változásait, valamint a „trumpizmus” hosszú távú fennmaradásának a lehetőségeit elemzi. Ennek keretében áttekinti a Trump-jelenségnek a szakirodalomban megjelenő főbb értelmezési irányait, többek között a tranzakcionalista megközelítést, Walter Russell Meadnek a jacksoniánus külpolitikai folytonosságra vonatkozó értelmezését, továbbá a liberális nemzetközi renddel szembeni kritikákat. Ezt követően a Trump-kormányzat politikájának a legfontosabb ellentmondásait ismerteti: miközben a globális amerikai szerepvállalás visszaszorítását és a multipolaritás elfogadását hangsúlyozza, a gyakorlatban továbbra is erőteljesen érvényesíti az amerikai hatalmi és nemzeti érdekeket. Az elemzés arra világít rá, hogy a trumpi politika korántsem tekinthető egységes és ellentmondásoktól mentes stratégiai programnak, a trumpizmus pedig a személy- és vezető-központúsága, valamint az intézményellenes jellege miatt nehezen válhat tartós, koherens politikai irányzattá. A tanulmány konklúziója ezért, hogy Trump távozásával a trumpizmus fennmaradása bizonytalanná válhat, és maga a mozgalom is jelentősen átalakulhat. | The study examines the political and foreign policy changes under Donald Trump’s second presidency, as well as the prospects for the long-term survival of “Trumpism.” It also explores the main interpretations of the Trump phenomenon in the academic literature, including the transactional approach, Walter Russell Mead’s argument for continuity with the Jacksonian tradition of U.S. foreign policy, and critiques of the liberal international order. The study then turns to the key contradictions within Trump’s political approach: while the Trump administration advocates a reduced U.S. global role and appears more accepting of an increasingly multipolar world, it continues in practice to assert American power and national interests. The analysis therefore suggests that Trump’s foreign policy is far from a fully coherent or consistent strategic program. Given its highly personalistic and leader-centered nature, as well as its ambivalent relationship with institutions, the long-term future of Trumpism remains uncertain, particularly after Trump leaves office.
