Abstract
The authors processed bag data obtained in the hunting season 2000/2001 for 9 waterfowl species huntable in Hungary: Anser fabalis, Anser albifrons, Anas platyrhynchos, Anas querquedula, Anas crecca, Aythya ferina, Bucephala clangula, Fúlica atra and Scolopax rusticóla. Bag data were summarized for each county as well as for the total area of Hungary (Table 1.). Distribution of bags on the country is represented for each species in maps (Map 1-9.). In course of evaluation, the following were determined: distribution of bags of huntable waterfowl species between the certain regions (Table 2.), furthermore the dominance of goose species (Table 3., Figure 2.) in each of the regions investigated. Annex Tables 1-19. contain code numbers of each hunting range, their name, numbers of waterfowl bagged in the certain ranges (separately for each species). In the hunting season 2000/2001 for goose bags small decreasing (11%) was experienced: numbers of bagged geese amounted to 6435 birds, being by 2000 birds less than in the season 1999/2000 (7235 individuals). In case of the two species dealt with, changes in bags differed from each other: numbers of Anser fabalis decreased by 26,8% (-1603 birds) whereas those of Anser albifrons experienced increments of 64,6% (+803 individuals).
