Abstract

Cél: A tanulmány célja, hogy bemutassa, milyen fejlesztéseken ment keresztül a poligráf, és az egyes fejlesztések hogyan hatottak a műszer igénybevételére.Módszertan: A vizsgálódás poligráffal kapcsolatos publikációkra, jogszabályokra, anonimizált bírósági határozatokra terjedt ki. Poligráfos vizsgálatokat végző szaktanácsadókkal is készültek interjúk, ezekből származó információk is részét képezik a tanulmánynak.Megállapítások: A műszer, amely poligráfnak tekinthető, 1921-ben született meg az Egyesült Államokban. Az elmúlt évtizedekben nemcsak a műszer, hanem a hozzá kapcsolódó vizsgálati metodika is átalakult. Mára a numerikus értékelés által világszerte egységesedett és objektiválódott a módszer, melynek alkalmazási helye a nyomozás maradt, a bírósági igénybevétele és bizonyítékként felhasználása továbbra is vitatott. Abban egyetértés van, hogy a szerepe leginkább a nyomozás orientálásában van. A hatóságoknak pedig oda kell figyelniük arra, hogy ne értékeljék túl a poligráfos vizsgálat eredményét, mert a módszer a hibázás lehetőségét is magában hordozza.Érték: A tanulmány hozzájárulhat ahhoz, hogy képet adjon a jogalkalmazói gyakorlatról. A változások figyelemmel kísérése témája lehet újabb publikációknak. | Aim: The purpose of this paper is to describe the developments the polygraph has undergone and how each of these developments has influenced the use of the instrument. Methodology: The investigation covered publications, legislation, and anonymized court decisions related to the polygraph. Interviews were also conducted with expert consultants who perform polygraph examinations, and the information derived from these interviews is also included in the paper. Findings: The device, which can be considered a polygraph, was developed in the United States in 1921. In recent decades, not only the device but also the associated testing methodology has undergone transformation. Today, the method has been standardized and objectified worldwide through a numerical scoring system; while its application remains within the realm of criminal investigations, its use in court and as evidence remains controversial. There is agreement that its role lies primarily in guiding investigations. Authorities, however, must be careful not to overestimate the results of polygraph examinations, as the method inherently carries the possibility of error. Value: This paper may provide an overview of law enforcement practices. Monitoring these changes could be the subject of future publications.
