Abstract
Reopened in spring 2026 under the National Castle Program, Kisvárda Castle pairs preservation with cultural reuse. Its white-plastered historic tower and wall contrast with brick-clad reconstructions of missing wings, reached by a new northern entrance and wooden bridge. Guided by recent archaeological findings, the project adds interactive exhibitions, retains the courtyard theatre, and connects naturally to the surrounding parkland.
