Abstract
This study presents the issue of the application of the infringement procedure and its impact on ensuring compatibility with EU law in Central and Eastern Europe. Its main research goal is to show the basic mechanisms of the functioning of the indicated procedure, the trends related to its use in the context of the European integration process and numerical data. The structure of the work, which includes three chapters, is subordinated to this idea: (1) Infringement procedure as an instrument for the implementation of EU law in Member States – general approval; (2) Reasons and trends of applying the infringement procedure against the countries of Central and Eastern Europe; (3) Conflict proceedings against Central and Eastern states – topics and numbers.
