Abstract

A modernitás áttérés a tárgyak megfigyeléséről magának a megfigyelésnek a megfigyelésére. E reflexív fordulat a 16. századtól kezdve alapvetően alakította át az önmagunkhoz fűződő viszonyunkat. Miként kapcsolódik ez a változás a kora újkori modernizációs törekvésekhez? Milyen kihívások elé állítja ez az ént egy olyan világban, ahol az embernek intézményesen elkülönült cselekvési szférák között kell eligazodnia, és élete egységét ezek között kell megteremtenie? A kötet azt vizsgálja, miként reagált a filozófia erre a történeti változásra. Bemutatja azokat a 16–17. századi fogalmi elmozdulásokat, amelyek lehetővé tették a perspektívák között mozgó, önmagát reflexív módon értelmező modern én elgondolását. | Modernity marks a shift from the observation of objects to the observation of observation itself. From the 16th century onwards, this reflexive turn fundamentally transformed our relationship with ourselves. How does this change relate to the modernization efforts of the early modern period? What challenges does this pose for the self in a world where people must navigate between institutionally separate spheres of action and create a sense of unity in their lives across them? The volume examines how philosophy responded to this historical change. It presents the conceptual shifts of the 16th and 17th centuries that made possible the conception of the modern self—a self that moves between perspectives and interprets itself in a reflexive manner.
