Abstract

A szövegben taglalt problémafelvetésben a magyar nyelvű tudományosság és a nemzetközi tudománymetriai elvárások közötti kapcsolatot elemzem, reflektálva a közelmúlt hazai tudománypolitikai vitáira. Kritikával illetem a közbeszédben megjelenő, szakmailag megalapozatlan kijelentéseket, és rámutatok arra, hogy a tudománymetria egy rugalmas eszköz, amelynek alkalmazása során a Magyar Tudományos Akadémia (MTA) és a hazai minősítő szervek messzemenően figyelembe veszik a tudományterületi sajátosságokat. Cáfolom azt a tévhitet, miszerint a bölcsészet- és társadalomtudományokban teljesíthetetlen nemzetközi publikációs kényszer érvényesülne; bemutatom, hogy a minőségi követelmények az életműnek csupán töredékét érintik. Érvelésem szerint a nemzetközi láthatóság nem zárja ki a magyar nyelvű tudományosság ápolását, a tudománymetriai mérések pedig elengedhetetlenek a tudományos transzparencia biztosításához és a nepotizmus elleni küzdelemhez. | The problem discussed in the text analyzes the relationship between Hungarian-language scientific research and international scientometric expectations, reflecting on recent domestic science policy debates. I criticize the professionally unfounded statements appearing in public discourse and point out that scientometrics is a flexible tool, the application of which is largely taken into account by the Hungarian Academy of Sciences (MTA) and domestic rating agencies when considering the specific characteristics of different scientific fields. I refute the misconception that there is an unattainable international publication requirement in the humanities and social sciences; I show that quality requirements affect only a fraction of the body of work. I argue that international visibility does not preclude the cultivation of Hungarian language scholarship, and that scientometric measurements are essential for ensuring scientific transparency and combating nepotism.
