Abstract

A projekt vállalt célkitűzéseit maradéktalanul teljesítettük. Budapesten 2010. októberében tartottunk workshop-ot a müncheni partnerek részvételével. | The aims of the project have been completely reached. The leader of the project visited the University of Munich in March and November 2010 and March and November 2011, where he consulted with the cooperating German researchers, gave lectures and held two seminars as visiting professor about the topic of the project. He also delivered a lecture at a conference on particles in Göttingen and at the yearly meeting of the Institut für deutsche Sprache in Mannheim. In October 2010 a workshop was organised in Budapest with the participation of the partners from Munich. The leader of the project has submitted his habilitation thesis containing the research results and has already received one of the expert opinions evaluating the dissertation as excellent. The two participants have each spent a week at the University of Munich, where they consulted with the German partners. Emese Zakariás presented her results in a conference talk in Nagyvárad, Bernadett Modrián-Horváth participated at a conference in Szombathely and Paris. Furthermore, they have both completed an article that has been accepted for publication. In the project we have examined the interaction of the indicators of sentence modality, with special attention to interrogative and imperative particles as well as the characteristics of word order in nine European languages. We have observed several converging phenomena in genealogically unrelated European languages, e.g. in the case of German and Hungarian.
