Abstract
The description of puppet performances is one of the central questions of Hungarian puppetry aesthetics research, and in examining it, we find ourselves face to face with multiple contradictions. In my paper, I attempt to reconstruct the Orfeo Puppet Ensemble’s 1972 performance Children’s Games using the Philther method, highlighting the questions and problems connected to the research and recording of an amateur puppet group’s performance; as well as the possibilities that allow us to begin writing the history of the group based on this one reconstruction.
