Abstract

The use of the accessibility potential models in transport-geographical studies are very common. In our study, we have looked at the relationship between the different accessibility models and regional development. The use of models arises as to interpretation, some have problems because of their complexity. In order to solve this problem, a method was developed by which the breakdown of the factors of accessibility potential is feasible. In our study the NUTS3 regions of European Union as an example, we analyze the spatial relationships between development and the accessibility, we show the factors of accessibility potential, and examine relationship between these factors and the components of development. Finally, we examine the accessibility potential of EU27 NUTS3 regions that impact on the region's dominant nationality.
