Abstract

This study is a summary of literature prepared after the regime change, focusing on a questionnaire that explores the perspectives of Hungarians in Romania regarding sociological research in Székelyland. The primary research topic of the study is national identity. We aim to examine how the attitudes of Transylvanian Hungarians towards different aspects of national identity have evolved over the past thirty years, including self-determination and group affili- ation, criteria for Hungarian identity, notions of home and homeland, Hungar- ian and Romanian national belonging, Hungarian perspectives on citizenship, and factors influencing national affiliation. Are there any discernible differences between respondents residing in Székelyland and those living in other regions?
