Abstract
One of the most popular and influencing linguistic ideology among the Hungarian speakers is linguistic purism. The article analyzes how the linguistic purism affects the language attitudes of the Transylvanian young people. The author collected data through a questionnaire, which was completed by Hungarian speaking high school and university students from five Transylvanian cities with different language environment. In addition to frequency analyses the author examines the statistically significant correlations between certain social and language variables.
