Abstract
Forró went to the Netherlands in 1932 as a scholarship holder of the Stipendium Bernardinum. He took classes with the most eminent professors in Utrecht for four years and in his last year he began his academic research on the Hungarian peregrination in Franeker. An unfounded accusation of plagiarism took a heavy toll on his health, and it was only decades later that he resumed his research on the subject. In 1964, as a Stipendium Bernardinum scholarship holder, he managed to travel to and conduct research in Utrecht and Leeuwaarden. Although he devoted many years to the research of the Hungarian peregrination in Franeker, his book has never been published, except for a shorter text. He was also interested in the history of the Stipendium Bernardinum and the fate of its scholarship holders, on which he also published articles. He had an extensive professional and friendly circle in the Netherlands, whose support he could always count on. His relationship with the Vermeuelen family also attracted the interest of the Hungarian State Security Office, which led to years of surveillance.
