Abstract
The present paper analyses the importance of student questions regarding assignments in translation training, with an emphasis on technical translation in the fields of social science and economy, providing examples in the language pair German-Hungarian. Based on the dichotomy of Christiane Nord (2002), the paper first provides an overview of possible questions related to intratextual and extratextual factors in translation. In the second part, it presents possible answers why students rarely ask these important questions during assignments in translation training.
