Abstract

A nacionalizmus, mint minden fogalom és ideológia, rengeteget változott az idők során, nagyon sok variánsa jelent meg attól függően, hogy milyen célt kellett szolgáljon. Ebből kifolyólag mondható, hogy a nacionalizmus az egyik legellentmondásosabb politikai eszme. | I titled my study In the Mirror of Ideologies, as it examines how the idea of nationalism was employed throughout the 20th century as a tool of homogenizing national policies, and what strategies different states developed to implement this. This is illustrated through the examples of the Greek–Turkish population exchange, the German minority in South Tyrol, the nationality policy of the Soviet Union, the Polish–Ukrainian population exchange, and the efforts directed against Hungarian minorities in Central Europe. Finally, I highlight the fundamental similarities and differences between these cases.
