Abstract

A névtani ismeretek explicit módon ugyan nem szerepelnek a tantervi követelményekben, amagyar nyelv és irodalom műveltségterületének anyaga azonban számos lehetőséget nyújta tananyagba illesztéshez, továbbá a névtudomány interdiszciplináris jellegéből fakadóankiváló eszköze lehet a tantárgyi integrációnak is. A diákok onomasztikai tájékozottsága gyakranmégis meglehetősen hiányos. A tanulmány egy nyolc évfolyamos gimnázium tanulóinak névtaniismereteit vizsgálja kérdőíves módszerrel, amely a család- és a keresztnevek jelentésén, eredeténtúl a keresztnévadás indítékaira, a névgyakoriságra, a becenevekre, valamint a tanulók sajátnevükhöz fűződő viszonyára is rákérdez. Az eredmények azt mutatják, hogy a diákok több mintfele nem rendelkezik biztos tudással saját nevéről, szép számmal akadnak azonban olyanok is –leginkább a lányok között –, akik kiemelkedően precíz válaszokkal igazolják tájékozottságukat anevek világában. | The knowledge on onomastics is not explicitly included in the curriculum requirements, but the knowledge domain of Hungarian language and literature provides plenty of opportunities for its inclusion in the learning material. Moreover, due to the interdisciplinary character of onomastics, it is an excellent tool of subject integration. However, the onomastics knowledge of students is often rather insufficient. This study investigates the onomastics knowledge of students from an eight-grade secondary grammar school. The questionnaire survey focuses on the motivation of naming, name frequency, nicknames, and the attitude of students to their own names – besides the meaning and etymology of surnames and first names. The results show that half of the students do not have solid knowledge about their own names and that there are many students, mainly among girls, who demonstrate their knowledge of the world of names with extremely precise answers.
