Abstract
In this analysis I will write about Adam and Eve’s iconography, and how it is represented in two plays of Imre Madách’s The Tragedy of Man. In the first half there is a timeline, that starts from the early Christian era and extends to contemporary art. I analyse art pieces from different centuries and compare them to each other. The second half is about the two plays, concentrating on the puppets themselves and their resemblance to their counterparts in fine arts. At the end I arrive at the conclusion that the plays do not really take the iconography into consideration.
