Abstract

Az írásjelek tanításakor általában csak arról esik szó, hogy hova, milyen jelet kell tenni. Nem szoktak azonban azzal foglalkozni (s ez sok hiba forrása lehet), hogy például tapad-e az írásjel vagy sem. Éppen ezért gyakran előfordul, hogy a zárójelen belül nem tapadnak a betűk a zárójelekhez, vagy a gondolatjel túl rövid (csak kötőjel hosszúságú), és tapad az előtte vagy az utána álló szóhoz. Gyakran még nagyobb gondot okoz a szimbólumok írása (a kivonás jele, a százalék jele, a fokjel stb.), sőt a mértékegységek, a pénzegységek stb. jelölése is. A cikk ezen írásjelek, szimbólumok és egyéb jelek alkalmazásához és helyes írásához kíván segítséget nyújtani. When teaching punctuation, teachers usually discuss where to use which punctuation mark. It is often the source of mistake, however, that they do not consider whether there is a space after the punctuation mark. Therefore, common spelling mistakes are to use a space before the first word within brackets, to use a hyphen instead of a dash, and to use no space before and after dashes. It is even more problematic how to use symbols (for example, the symbol of extraction, percentage or degree) and abbreviations (for example, the abbreviation of measures or monetary units). This article aims to provide help with the correct use of these punctuation marks, symbols, and abbreviations.
