Abstract

A jelen tanulmány a klasszikus realizmust és gyökérzetét vizsgálja, elsősorban legfontosabb megkülönböztető jegyét, vagyis hogy az állami viselkedést az emberi természetnek tulajdonítja, amely egy időben és térben változatlan, örök fogalom. Mind a thuküdidészi hajtóerő, mind a machiavellista hagyomány, mind a hobbesi természeti állapot a külpolitikai magatartás tekintetében az ember lényegéről és az antropológiáról, az emberi természet mibenlétéről alkotott sajátos elképzelésen nyugszik, és valójában Edward H. Carr, majd az elmélet keretrendszerének végleges megalkotója, Hans J. Morgenthau realizmusának gyökerei is a bukott ember fogalomköréhez vezetnek vissza. A tanulmány ezen fő csomópontokat elemzi és mutatja be a klasszikus realista szerzők pesszimizmusát és az erkölcsről alkotott sajátos képének eredetét. I The present paper examines classical realism and its roots, in particular its most important distinguishing feature, namely that it attributes state behaviour to human nature, which is an eternal concept unchanging in time and space. Both the Thucydidean drive and the Machiavellian tradition, as well as the Hobbesian state of nature in terms of foreign policy conduct, are grounded in a particular conception of the essence of man and anthropology, the very essence of human nature, and indeed the roots of Edward H. Carr’s realism, and later of the final creator of the theoretical framework, Hans J. Morgenthau’s realism, can be traced back to the conceptual circle of the fallen man. The paper analyses these main intersections and presents the origins of the classical realist authors’ pessimism and their particular view of morality.
