Abstract

A tanulmány témája a pozsonyi tanárképzés múltjának és jelenének tudományos igényű bemutatása gazdag forrásanyag alapján. A pozsonyi Comenius Egyetem Bölcsészettudományi Karán működő Magyar Nyelv és Irodalom Tanszék – elődintézményeit, az 1928-ban alakult úgynevezett magyar szemináriumot és az 1950 és 1959 között működő magyar altanszéket is beleértve – a szlovákiai magyarság legrégebbi tudományos műhelye. Szakmaisága, tudományossága a modern egyetemi eszmény mentén formálódik, de olyan értékeket is képvisel, amelyek a szlovákiai magyarok kultúrájához és ezáltal az egyetemes magyar kultúrához kapcsolják. Az intézményben jelenleg három akkreditált tanulmányi szakon folyik magyar nyelvű alap- és mesterképzés: tanár, tolmácsfordító és kiadványszerkesztés szakon. A tanszék biztosítja továbbá a szlovák anyanyelvű levéltár, valamint közép-európai tanulmányok szakos hallgatók magyar nyelvi képzését, és fakultatív nyelvtanfolyamokat kínál a kar hallgatói számára. Tudományos profilját a mindenkori oktatók tevékenységi köre határozza meg, amely két tudományterületre, a nyelvészetre és az irodalomtudományra irányul. A tanulmány történeti forrásokra és egyéb tudományos munkákra építve betekintést nyújt az elődintézmények és az önálló tanszék történetébe az alapítástól napjainkig. Bemutatja az intézményben folyó sokrétű oktatási és tudományos tevékenységet, különös tekintettel a magyar nyelvű tanárképzésre. A tanszék hagyományőrző és értékteremtő küldetése, hogy folyamatosan megújulva művelt értelmiségieket neveljen magyar nyelven, kiemelten fontos a magyar nyelvű közösség tudományos élete és közéleti tevékenysége, valamint a felvidéki magyar nyelvű oktatás számára. | The topic of this study is a scholarly presentation of the past and present of teacher education in Bratislava, based on a rich body of sources. The Department of Hungarian Language and Literature at the Faculty of Arts of Comenius University in Bratislava, including its predecessor institutions, the Hungarian Seminar founded in 1928, and the Hungarian subdepartment which operated between 1950 and 1959, is the oldest academic centre of the Hungarian minority in Slovakia. Its professionalism and scientific approach have been shaped by ideals of the modern university; at the same time, it also represents values linked to the culture of Hungarians in Slovakia, and through this, to Hungarian culture in general. The department currently offers three accredited bachelor’s and master’s programmes in Hungarian: Training of Teachers, Translation Studies and Interpretation, and Editing and Publishing. The department also provides Hungarian language training for students of Slovak native language enrolled in Archive Studies and Central European Studies. Furthermore, the department offers optional language courses to students of the faculty. The department’s research profile is determined by the fields of activity of its academic staff, which focus on two fields of study: linguistics and literary studies. Drawing on historical sources and other scholarly works, this study provides insight into the history of the predecessor institutions and the department itself from their foundation to the present day. It presents the diverse educational and research activities carried out at the institution, with a particular focus on Hungarian- language teacher education. The department’s mission, rooted in tradition yet continuously renewing itself, is to train well-educated intellectuals in Hungarian. This mission is of particular importance for the academic life and public engagement of the Hungarian-speaking community, as well as for Hungarian-language education in Slovakia.
