Abstract

A Csornától délkeletre található Sülyhegyen, 1888 tavaszán, homokbányászat során honfoglalás kori sírokat találtak. Előbb Lakner Ambró, majd néhány évvel később Bella Lajos tárta fel a lelőhely egy részét, munkájuk nyomán mintegy 34 temetkezésről vannak adataink. A temető egykori sírszáma azonban ennél bizonyára nagyobb volt. A feltárt sírokat előkerülésük sorrendje szerint közölték, ugyanakkor a lelőhely összefoglaló feldolgozása napjainkig hiányt jelent a korszak kutatásán belül. Az újraközlés nem csupán a sírok és leletek eddigieknél részletesebb leírását adja, hanem több ponton tisztázza is a leletek hovatartozását és további adatokkal egészíti ki meglévő ismereteinket a temetőről. In the spring of 1888, graves from the Age of Conquest were found during sand mining in Sülyhegy, east of Csorna. First Ambró Lakner, and a few years later Lajos Bella explored part of the site, and their work resulted in data on about 34 burials. However, the number of graves in the cemetery was certainly larger. The excavated graves were published in the order in which they were found, but until today there has been a lack of a comprehensive study of the site in the field of research into the period. The new edition not only provides a more detailed description of the graves and finds than has been available to date, but also clarifies the provenance of the finds and adds further information to our existing knowledge of the cemetery.
