Abstract

Az Out című film 1957-ben az ENSZ megrendelésére készült Lionel Rogosin rendezésében. Kifejezett célja a béke és a nemzetközi kooperáció hirdetése volt az 1956-os forradalom leverését követően kialakult migrációs válság idején (Thompson 2018), a probléma köztudatban tartása mellett. A film narratív technikáit a részvételi filmes hagyományok segítségével elemzem, rávilágítva a személyes perspektívák tudatos használatára mint az érzékenyítés eszközére. A film az általa kezelt tragédiák rétegeit az idő és tér torzulásával mutatja meg, melyek koherenciáját és többértelműségét is a belső monológok adják. | Out is a short film commissioned by the United Nations Film Board and directed by Lionel Rogosin in 1957. Its main purpose was to promote peace and international cooperation during the times of the migration crises which arose after the 1956 revolution in Hungary (Thompson, 2018), while also raising public awareness. During my research I analyzed the movie’s narrative techniques by the help of participatory filmmaking traditions, which helped me highlight the conscious use of personal narrative, as a tool for sensitization. The movie is complex in several dimensions, the layers of tragedies it deals with are shown by the help of the distortion of time and space, which then are brought together and also given more then one potential interpretations by inner monologues.
