Abstract

A tanulmány a globalizáció legfontosabb tudományos értelmezéseinek áttekintésére vállalkozik, amelynek során elsőként a definíció megalkotásának nehézségeit, majd a folyamat történeti szakaszainak meghatározására vonatkozó álláspontokat mutatja be. Ez után azt tárgyalja, hogy a globalizáció milyen területeken zajlik: ezek között kiemelt helyet foglal el a gazdaság, de a globalizáció egyik legfontosabb sajátossága többdimenziós jellege, vagyis egyidejűleg érinti a kultúrát, a politikát, és számos további aspektusa is van. A tanulmány szintén bemutatja a globalizációt előidéző tényezőket, melyek között a szakirodalom kiemelkedő szerepet tulajdonít a technológiai innovációknak. A viták kiemelt témája, hogy vajon a globalizáció kulturális egyesülést, homogenizációt hoz-e magával, továbbá a nemzetállamok gyengüléséhez vezet-e. Az áttekintés végül azt tárgyalja, hogy a szakirodalomban milyen álláspontok jelennek meg a globalizáció jövedelmekre gyakorolt hatásáról, illetve a globalizáció magyarországi folyamatáról. | In surveying the principal scholarly debates and interpretive approaches to globalization, the study first addresses the difficulties inherent in defining the concept, followed by the divergent perspectives on how to delineate its historical stages. It then turns to the domains in which globalization unfolds: while the economy occupies a central position, it is now widely recognized that one of globalization’s defining characteristics is its multidimensional nature–encompassing culture, politics, and a broad range of additional spheres simultaneously. The study also considers the driving forces of globalization, with literature traditionally assigning a prominent role to technological innovation. Key areas of contention include whether globalization entails cultural homogenization and whether it brings about the weakening of nation-states. Finally, the study explores the predominant scholarly views concerning the impact of globalization on income distribution, as well as the perspectives that have emerged on the trajectory of globalization in Hungary.
