Abstract

A Gravissimum educationis című deklaráció szerint „[a]z Egyház nagy figyelmet fordít a felsőfokú iskolákra, főleg az egyetemekre és fakul­tásokra. A tőle függő intézményekben természetszerűen arra törekszik, hogy az egyes tudományszakokat saját elveik, módszerük és az őket megillető kutatási szabadság birtokában úgy műveljék, hogy napról napra mélyebb ismeretekhez érjenek el, s korunk újabb kérdéseire és kutatásaira figyelve, és az egyháztanítók, főleg Aquinói Szent Tamás nyomdokaiban járva mélyebben átláthassák, hogy mennyire az egy igazság felé tart a hit és az értelem”. 2025-ben számos újkeletű kihívásra kell megfelelő válaszokat adnia a katolikus, egyházi egyetemeknek, így különösen a Pázmány Péter Katolikus Egyetemnek. A katolikus egyetemi oktatás mibenlétét, céljait és feladatait az Egyház ebben a körben kulcsdokumentumai pontosan meghatározzák. A Gravissimum educationis, a Fides et ratio, az Ex corde Ecclesiae és természetesen a Codex Iuris Canonici örökérvényű állításai és kívánalmai az idő előrehaladásával, a változó korszelemmel és a kereszténység európai visszaszorulásával, a korábbiakban nem tapasztalt példátlan kihívásokkal szembesül, mely a meghatározottak megvalósítását egyre nehezebbé teszik. Előadásomban a kihívások kibontásán túl, Aquinói Szent Tamás, a virágzó skolasztika és Szent II. János Pál pápa filozófiai antropológiai tanításán és Krisztus misztikus testének teológiáján keresztól kívánok lehetséges válaszokat bemutatni. Ezen válaszok közül több már a valóságban is megmutatkozott és ezeknek kezdeti gyümölcseit már ízlelhetjük. | According to the Gravissimum educationis declaration, “The Church pays great attention to higher education institutions, especially universities and faculties. In the institutions dependent on it, it naturally strives to ensure that the various disciplines are cultivated according to their own principles, methods, and the freedom of research to which they are entitled, so that they may attain deeper knowledge day by day, paying attention to the new questions and research of our time, and following in the footsteps of the Church’s teachers, especially in the footsteps of St. Thomas Aquinas, to gain a deeper understanding of how faith and reason lead to the one truth.” In 2025, Catholic and ecclesiastical universities, and in particular Pázmány Péter Catholic University, will have to provide appropriate responses to a number of new challenges. The nature, goals, and tasks of Catholic university education are precisely defined in the Church’s key documents in this area. Gravissimum educationis, Fides et ratio, Ex corde Ecclesiae, and, of course, the Codex Iuris Canonici, face unprecedented challenges with the passage of time, changing attitudes, and the decline of Christianity in Europe, which make it increasingly difficult to achieve the goals set forth. In my presentation, beyond elaborating on these challenges, I would like to present possible answers based on the philosophical anthropological teachings of St. Thomas Aquinas, the flourishing scholasticism, and Pope John Paul II. I would also like to draw on the theology of the mystical body of Christ. The first fruits of these are already visible, and we can already taste them | Nel 2025 le università cattoliche ed ecclesiastiche, in particolare l’Università Cattolica Péter Pázmány, sono chiamate a fornire risposte adeguate a numerose nuove sfide emergenti. La natura, gli obiettivi e i compiti dell’istruzione universitaria cattolica sono chiaramente definiti nei principali documenti della Chiesa in questo ambito. Le affermazioni e le esigenze permanenti della Gravissimum educationis, della Fides et ratio, della Ex corde Ecclesiae e naturalmente del Codex Iuris Canonici si confrontano oggi, con il passare del tempo, con il mutamento dello spirito dell’epoca, con il declino del cristianesimo in Europa e con sfide senza precedenti, che rendono sempre più difficile la loro concreta realizzazione. Nel mio intervento, oltre ad analizzare tali sfide, intendo presentare possibili risposte attraverso l’antropologia filosofica di san Tommaso d’Aquino, la fiorente scolastica e l’insegnamento antropologico e la teologia del Corpo Mistico di Cristo di san Giovanni Paolo II. Diverse di queste risposte sono già visibili nella realtà e possiamo già gustarne i primi frutti.
