Abstract
The study presents the musealisation of scientific research conducted at the Donja Gradina Memorial Area, the largest execution site of the Jasenovac concentration camp and a key location of genocidal crimes during World War II. It details how legal provisions of the Ustaša regime, the operation of the Jasenovac camp system and the persecution of Serbs, Jews and Roma are documented, interpreted and exhibited. The memorial’s interdisciplinary approach combines archival documents, survivor testimonies, visual sources and technological innovations such as interactive maps and holographic projections. By foregrounding individual and family narratives, the exhibition enhances visitors’ empathy and facilitates a nuanced reconstruction of historical processes. The study argues that musealisation serves not only educational purposes but also a broader moral responsibility, contributing significantly to safeguarding historical memory and countering revisionism.
