Abstract
This study examines the dilemmas of Transylvanian women survivors returning home after the Holocaust, from deportation through liberation to resettlement. It details physical and psychological hardships, uncertain journeys, and identity challenges. The author argues that survivors’ choices were shaped by trauma and improvisation rather than rational planning.
