Abstract

A tanulmány elsődlegesen a magyar nyelvközösség nyelvi helyzetére fókuszál kiemelt jelentőséget tulajdonítva a kisebbségi helyzetben élő nagyjából 3 milliós lélekszámú magyarság nyelvi és nyelvpolitikai helyzetére. Ennek oka, hogy a magyar identitás megőrzése a határon túli magyarság számára egybeesik a magyar anyanyelv megőrzésével, amelynek kapcsán azonban több nyelvpolitikai és nyelvtervezési probléma is felmerül. Az egyik legfontosabb ezek közül a magyar nyelv, azon belül pedig az egyes nyelvjárások nyelvpolitikai szerepe, státusza, valamint a hozzájuk kapcsolódó nyelvi attitűdök. | The current article focuses on the linguistic situation of Hungarians in minority situations and interprets various language policy issues primarily in the context of the Hungarian-speaking community. The status of the Hungarian language, especially in neighbouring countries and in relation to dialects, is a matter of great concern. The study has two main goals. The first one is to provide an up-to-date overview of the language policy issues concerning the Hungarian language. The second one is to describe the language policy role of dialects and the related attitudes from the perspective of the entire Hungarian language community, addressing macro-, meso-, and micro-level language planning possibilities. Given the fact that the preservation of Hungarian identity is often equivalent to the preservation of non-standard language varieties, several language policy and language planning issues arise in relation to this.
