Abstract
The presentation focuses on environmental studies and how the aims of this school subject can be fulfilled with the help of the activities organized by the Perpetual Ecological School. In the introduction I justify the choice of my topic, draw the attention to its importance and review the meaning and theoretical background of environmental pedagogy. I try to argue in favour of the topic of environmental protection within the school curriculum and of the significance of raising students’ awareness in this matter. Primary School No. 2. within the Pécs based institution of Apáczai Csere János Primary School, Grammar School, Youth Hostel and Basic Art School has won the title of Perpetual Ecological School and by its remarkable activity it shows the value of environmental protection. I intend to present the everyday life of the ecological school (through document analysis, observation, interview, questionnaire, comparison) by making use of varied research methods. After making my conclusions and experience known, I would like to reveal the necessary conditions that could lead to the successful accomplishment of the future goals set by the ecological school.
