Abstract
This paper addresses three key questions concerning the Greek-Latin dictionary misattributed to Cyril. First, how was the original vocabulary expanded or simplified in the fifteen humanist copies? Second, what language-learning needs can be inferred from the changes made by these copyists? Third, for whom might the Pseudo-Cyrillic dictionary have originally been produced in antiquity, and how does its vocabulary reflect the original purpose and function? The study focuses on the group of copies that exhibit the greatest degree of innovation, including the copy once owned by Janus Pannonius.
