Abstract

Jelen tanulmány célja, hogy a szakirodalom alapján áttekintést nyújtson az oktatástechnológia, különösen a mesterséges intelligencia (MI) szerepéről a modern nyelvoktatásban, a nyelvtanítás történetének a tükrében. Azt vizsgálja, hogy milyen területeken lehet hasznos a technológia. Ennek során nemcsak a különböző nyelvi tartalmak és készségek fejlesztésére, hanem az affektív előnyökre is kitér, így például a motiváció támogatására vagy a szorongásmentes tanulási környezet megteremtésére. Ezen túl azzal is foglalkozik, hogyan alakítható ki a nyelvtanulói autonómia az adaptív oktatási rendszerek segítségével. Legfontosabb megállapításai közé tartozik, hogy a virtuális tanulási környezeteknek fontos szerepe lehet a gátlások lebontásában, illetve hogy a modern chatbotok alkalmasak az autonóm nyelvtanulás támogatására. Rámutat arra is, hogy a nyelvtanulást támogató digitális eszközök egyes, újdonságként tálalt módszerei a nyelvtanítás története során sokszor már jóval korábban felbukkantak. | The aim of this paper is to provide an overview of the literature on the role of educational technology, in particular artificial intelligence (AI) in modern language education, in the light of the history of language teaching. It examines the areas in which the technology can be useful. It addresses the development of various language contents and skills, and also the affective benefits, such as supporting motivation or creating an anxiety-free learning environment. Finally, it also addresses how language learner autonomy can be developed with the help of adaptive educational systems. The most important findings of the paper are that virtual learning environments can play an important role in breaking down affective barriers and that modern chatbots are suitable for supporting autonomous language learning. It also points out that some of the methods of digital tools supporting language learning, presented as novelties, have often appeared much earlier in the history of language teaching.
