Abstract

A sokszínűbbé váló Európában a vallás egyre lényegesebb tényezővé vált a társadalmi jelenségek megértése szempontjából. Ebben szerepet játszik, hogy a migráció nagyszámú és eltérő vallású, kulturális hagyományú muszlim csoportot hozott a térségbe. Másrészt a vallás vizsgálatának fontosságát az is jelzi, hogy a honos népesség változatlanul jelentékeny része fordul a vallás felé, hogy általa önmaga és a világ megértéséhez fogódzókat találjon. Új jelenség azonban, hogy miközben a hagyományos, egyházhoz kötött vallásosság visszaszorulóban van Európában általában és Magyarországon is, Isten vagy általánosabban a transzcendens keresése, e tradícióról leválva, mégis eleven. Eme újfajta vallásosság egyéni és kollektív formáinak értelmezése áll a kötet középpontjában. A könyv újszerű módon nem csupán időbeli síkon vizsgálja tárgyát, hanem a térbeli változások vallásosságra gyakorolt hatását is elemzi. Ebben a megváltozott társadalmi térben az online tereknek és a közösségi médiának egyre meghatározóbb szerepe van. A kötet a jelenbeli vallásosság társadalomelméleti vonatkozásainak taglalása mellett az értékrend változásait középpontba állító empirikus kutatásokat is magában foglal. A monográfia ekképpen kiemelten foglalkozik azzal a kérdéssel, hogy a vallásosság milyen mértékben jár együtt sajátos értékválasztással, illetve azzal, hogy a vallásos és a nem vallásos emberek mennyiben viszonyulnak másképp a politikához. A kötet társadalomelméleti és empirikus értelmezései a szociológiaelmélet, a vallás- és értékszociológia területeihez kapcsolódnak. | In an increasingly diverse Europe, religion has become a progressively crucial factor in understanding social phenomena. A contributing factor to this is that migration has brought a large number of Muslim groups with diverse religious and cultural traditions into the region. On the other hand, the importance of studying religion is also indicated by the fact that a consistently significant portion of the native population continues to turn to religion to find anchors for understanding themselves and the world. It is a new phenomenon, however, that while traditional, church-affiliated religiosity is in decline in Europe in general, and in Hungary as well, the search for God—or more broadly, for the transcendent—remains alive, having detached itself from this tradition. The interpretation of the individual and collective forms of this new kind of religiosity lies at the center of the volume. In a novel approach, the book examines its subject not only on a temporal plane but also analyzes the impact of spatial changes on religiosity. In this transformed social space, online spaces and social media play an increasingly decisive role. In addition to discussing the socio-theoretical aspects of contemporary religiosity, the volume encompasses empirical research focusing on changes in value systems. The monograph thus places special emphasis on the question of the extent to which religiosity is associated with specific value choices, as well as how religious and non-religious individuals relate differently to politics. The socio-theoretical and empirical interpretations presented in the volume connect to the fields of sociological theory, alongside the sociology of religion and values.
