Abstract

Nowadays, in the age of hurried children, parental roles have changed. The aim of our research is to explore parental involvement and how support at home affects the effectiveness of learning. Research questions focused on what role parents play in their children’s academic life in an age of expectations often considered excessive and how this is reflected in grades. During the empirical research conducted in 2022, quantitative and qualitative methods were used. We got to know the opinion of the parents (N=110) by using a questionnaire, and the opinion of the teachers (N=5) by using an interview. The results of the primary research were compared with the findings of relevant literature, and then compared with the outcome of the secondary procedure. During the statistical analysis of the data, we obtained the result that support at home is of key importance for junior students. Assistance in learning the course material is directly proportional to better certificate averages.
